We could not be more excited here at the ERC about our upcoming winter programs! This winter, the ERC will once again offer Winter Tracking Workshops, Winter Birding Walks with a new twist, Gallery Walks, Science After School, and snowshoe tours for the Limelight Hotel guests.
Ann Christensen leads our Winter Tracking Workshops and has decades of experience in both tracking and teaching. Spending a day with Ann at a Workshop will get you hooked on tracking! Local birding expert, Poo Wright-Pulliam leads our Winter Birding Walks and presentations. This winter, Poo will once again offer the beloved Silver Creek Preserve Bird Walk but will also add a Discovering Winter Birds of Ketchum presentation at The Community Library, followed by a walk around Ketchum. We are so grateful for our partners and local experts that assist us with our winter programs.
To see the dates and details of these events view the Winter Tracking Flyer , Winter Bird Walk Flyer or the ERC’s Event Calendar. These workshops are open to novice and advanced birders and trackers! If you’re interested in animals in winter, there’s no reason not to attend!
Additionally, the ERC will be open during the Gallery Walk on Friday, December 29 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with an exhibit by local photographer, Kat Cannell, entitled “Large Landscapes with a Micro Focus”. Kat, a native to central Idaho, was inspired to create this exhibit after witnessing an increase in trash left behind along the trails and around campsites at the high alpine lakes in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA). The exhibit will include collections of the microtrash Kat collected in the SNRA and Kat’s stunning photographs of local landscapes. Can’t make it during the Gallery Walk? Kat’s art will be up at the ERC office beginning December 20, stop by 9:00AM-4:00PM, Monday through Friday to check it out.
Science After School-Alturas registration and information will be available January 3!
We hope you can join us for a program this season! For more information on these programs contact Alisa McGowan, ERC Program Director at alisa@ercsv.org or (208) 726-4333.
